PGPD Participates in “Redskins Read Across Prince George’s County” Event

Prince George’s County Deputy Police Chief Hector Velez helped kick off the “Redskins Read Across Prince George’s County” program at FedEx Field today.  Prince George’s County Fire Chief Marc Bashoor joined Deputy Chief Velez to read to more than 200 students from several Prince George’s County Public Schools.  Participating schools included Templeton Elementary School, Overlook Elementary School, Langley Park-McCormick Elementary School, Forest Heights Elementary School, Columbia Park Elementary School and William Beanes Elementary School.   The “Redskins Read Across Prince George’s County” program will reward students who read 10 or more books during the 2012-13 school year.
