The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a hit and run accident in Temple Hills.
On February 7, 2013, around 6:30 pm, police officers responded to the 4700 block of Wheeler Road for the report of a hit and run. Upon arrival, police officers found a 14 year-old boy in the roadway. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he is currently in critical condition.
The preliminary investigation reveals the teenager was trying to cross Wheeler Road when he was hit by a taxi cab. The teen was not in a crosswalk. The taxi cab driver did not stop. With the help of a witness, police officers found the car at the Southern Avenue Metro Station. Charges against the driver are pending. Preliminarily, speed does appear to be a factor in the accident.
