PGPD Arrests District Heights Man for Two Sexual Assaults

Posted on 12:47 PM by Unknown

Bernard King Jr

The Prince George’s County Police Department arrested a suspect wanted for a recent sexual assault in Forestville and for a second sexual assault in July of 2012.
He is identified as 20-year-old Bernard King, Jr. of the 7500 block of Kipling Parkway in District Heights.

On May 31, 2013, around 1:30 am, the victim was approached by King after she walked into an apartment building in the 2100 block of Brooks Drive.  King grabbed the woman and began to pull down her clothing.  She managed to fight him off.  King then ran away.

During the course of the investigation, King was developed as a suspect.  Detectives arrested him at his home on June 5, 2013.  King has also been identified as a suspect in another sexual assault which occurred in the laundry room of the same apartment building on July 23, 2012.  In that case, the victim was also able to fight off King as he tried to remove her clothing.

King is charged with attempted first degree rape, robbery, first degree assault and related charges.  He remains in custody at the Department of Corrections.

Anyone with information about these cases or King is asked to call the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Sexual Assault Unit at 301-772-4908.  Callers wishing to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477), text “PGPD plus your message” to CRIMES (274637) on your cell phone or go to http://www.pgpolice.org and submit a tip online.
