Suspect Under Arrest in Connection With Deadly Fire in New Carrollton

Posted on 10:14 AM by Unknown

**Please note:  The Prince George’s County Police Department is holding a news conference on this incident today at 3:00 pm at Police Services Complex in Palmer Park.

The Prince George's County Police Department is conducting a death investigation in New Carrollton.  Two adults are deceased, one male and one female. Both are believed to have lived in the 7600 block of Fontainbleau Drive.  A suspect is in custody in connection with this incident.  Charges are pending.  He is identified as 44 year-old Anthony Andre Allain of the 7600 block of Fontainbleau Drive.

(Anthony Andre Allain)

On January 13, 2013, at approximately 7:45 pm, police officers were called to 7600 Fontainbleau Drive after a witness called 911 stating the suspect barricaded himself and others inside the apartment and started a fire.  Once on scene, police officers found the female victim with serious injuries she is believed to have suffered while trying to escape the flames. She was rushed to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police officers arrested Allain in a nearby apartment building last night.  He was taken to a local hospital where he is being treated for non-life threatening burns. Charges are pending while Allain awaits extradition to Prince George’s County.

The cause of the fire is suspicious and Prince George’s County Department Fire investigators are searching to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
