A Prince George's County Police Department patrol officer is credited with saving the life of a three-year-old boy in Accokeek. The little boy's family called 911 after finding the child tangled in window blind cords.
Police Officer Ariel Acosta had been on a traffic stop when he heard the call dispatched at approximately 5:00 pm. When he arrived at the home in the 15000 block of Livingston Road, the child was not breathing and had turned blue. PO Acosta immediately began performing CPR on the child and was able to resuscitate him before fire department personnel arrived on scene. The child was taken to a hospital where he was alert and talking. He will likely be admitted for observation out of an abundance of caution.
PO Acosta is a five-year veteran of the Prince George's County Police Department.
