Romin Milton
The Prince George’s County Police Department arrested a Landover man for the unlawful use of lights and sirens while driving. The suspect is identified as 32-year-old Romin Milton of the 500 block of Willow Hill Court. Milton had in his possession a police badge and radio.
On July 16, 2013 at approximately 11:00 pm, a Prince George’s County Police officer on routine patrol near Interstate 295 and Route 50 in Cheverly spotted a black SUV with District of Columbia license plates driving on the shoulder of the road with flashing high beams and a blaring siren. The PGPD police officer attempted a traffic stop, but the driver initially continued driving. Moments later, the SUV stopped. While approaching the SUV, the PGPD police officer saw the driver, Romin Milton, cutting the wires to the siren box switch with a pair of wire cutters. Milton told the PGPD police officer that he worked for a local police department as a dispatcher. After contacting that police department, the PGPD discovered Milton did not work for that agency. Milton admitted to making up the story.
A search of the SUV revealed a police badge, a portable radio, several police LED lights, strobe kits, emergency light switches and mounting brackets.
Milton is charged with the unlawful use of flashing lights and a siren and several other traffic offenses. The Prince George’s County Police Department would like to speak with anyone who has information on this case or has had similar contact with Milton.
