The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a murder in Fort Washington. The victim is identified as 16 year-old Marcus Antonio Jones of the 800 block of Swan Creek Road East in Fort Washington.
On January 20, 2013, at 12:00 am, police officers were called to the 7700 block of Webster Lane for a shooting. Upon arrival, police officers found Jones outside, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The preliminary investigation reveals as Jones walked to a car after leaving a home on Webster Lane, an unknown suspect shot him and ran away. Detectives are following up on substantial leads, and are working to identify a suspect and motive in this case.
