Driver Charged in Double Fatal Crash in Glenn Dale

Posted on 12:00 PM by Unknown

The Prince George’s County Police Department has charged a driver involved in a double fatal crash in Glenn Dale on March 25, 2013. The suspect is identified as 35-year-old Ramon Anaya-Ascencio of no fixed address. He’s facing a total of eight charges including two counts of homicide by motor vehicle while impaired by alcohol as well as two counts of vehicular manslaughter.

On March 25, 2013, at approximately 7:45 am, patrol officers were called to the 10800 block of Lanham Severn Road for a report of a vehicle collision. Once on scene, patrol officers learned a Honda Accord driven by Anaya-Ascencio crossed in front of a westbound Audi A6. The Audi struck the Honda on its passenger side.

The two passengers in the Honda, 46-year-old Leo Castro and 30-year-old Jose Rodrigeuez, both of Lanham, were taken to a local hospital where they were pronounced dead.

The preliminary investigation reveals alcohol appears to be a factor in this crash.
Anaya-Ascencio is in the custody of the Department of Corrections and is being held on a $200,000 bond.
