PGPD Investigates Domestic–Related Murder/Suicide in Clinton

Posted on 7:23 AM by Unknown

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a domestic-related murder/suicide in Clinton. The victim is identified as 41-year-old Denise Taffe of the 7700 block of Pinewood Drive. The gunman is identified as her estranged husband 47-year-old Jason Taffe of the 14000 block of Whispering Pines Court in Silver Spring.
On May 15, 2013, at approximately 10:20 pm, patrol officers responded to the 7700 block of Pinewood Drive for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, patrol officers found the victim and gunman lying in the yard. They were pronounced dead on the scene.
The preliminary investigation reveals Mr. Taffe came to the victim's home and the two got into an argument that turned physical. He pulled out a shotgun and shot his estranged wife. He then turned the weapon on himself and took his own life.
Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the Prince Georges’ County Police Department’s Homicide Unit at 301-772-4925.
