PGPD Investigates Double Homicide in Laurel

Posted on 1:21 PM by Unknown

Updated May 2, 2013:  The victims are identified as 42-year-old James Vell Ferguson and 45-year-old Tina Towler, both of the 9600 block of Muirkirk Road in Laurel.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a double homicide in Laurel.

On May 2, 2013, at approximately 8:15 am, patrol officers responded to the 9600 block of Muirkirk Road for a welfare check. Upon arrival, patrol officers found a man and woman suffering from trauma to the upper body. Patrol officers also found an adult with significant disabilities in the home. The adult is the 25-year-old daughter of the female victim. She was taken to a local hospital for observation. She was not hurt.

The preliminary investigation reveals a nurse, assigned to monitor the adult with special needs, found the victims during a routine visit. Both victims were pronounced dead on the scene.

Neighbors have reported hearing loud voices at approximately 5:00 am. Detectives are working to establish suspect(s) and motive.
