The Prince George’s County Police Department arrested six suspects in connection with an armed carjacking and robbery in Landover. The suspects are five adults and one juvenile female. The adult suspects are identified as 18-year-old Jose Aldes Barrera of the 4700 block of 68th Place in Landover, 19-year-old Devine Shields of the 6700 of Stanton Road in Landover, 18-year-old Delantae Stevenson of the 4800 block of Glenoak Road in Landover, 18-year-old Delonte Newell of the 4800 block of 66th Place in Landover and 19-year-old Marquise Buyck of no fixed address.
On August 6, 2013, at approximately 2:30 am, patrol officers were called to the 6700 block of Stanton Road in Landover for the report of a carjacking. The two victims had been lured there to meet with a woman they met on a social media site. When the victims arrived at the meeting location, the female suspect told them to pull into a driveway. That’s when three armed suspects ran from behind a house and demanded the victims’ personal property and car. Out of fear for their safety, they complied. The suspects drove away. The victims were not hurt.
During the course of the investigation, the juvenile female was identified as a suspect. She was arrested without incident. Further investigation revealed the identities of the other five suspects. While arresting those suspects, police officers recovered several weapons, drugs and ammunition. Several items belonging to the victims were also recovered, including the car.
