PGPD Seeks Information in Fatal Pedestrian Hit-and-Run in Landover

Posted on 9:48 AM by Unknown

Updated August 23, 2013:  The pedestrian is identified as 42-year-old Danielle Williams, of the 2600 block of Birney Place in Southeast Washington.

The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision in Landover.  Detectives would like to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the collision.
On August 22, 2013, at about 9:30 pm, patrol officers were called to Landover Road and John Hanson Highway for the report of a pedestrian struck.  Upon their arrival, patrol officers found a woman lying in the road. She was pronounced dead on the scene.
The preliminary investigation suggests the woman was attempting to cross Landover Road when she was struck. She was not in a crosswalk. The striking vehicle did not stop, and is described as a gold SUV, possibly a Ford.
Anyone with information about the hit-and-run is urged to call the Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Unit at (301) 731-4422.  Callers wishing to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477) or text, “PGPD plus your message” to CRIMES (274637) from your cell phone.
